President of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Michelle Suskauer, a Board Certified Criminal Trial Attorney and nationally known legal analyst, is running for The Florida Bar Board of Governors 15th Judicial Circuit Seat 3. Ballots will be mailed on March 1, 2010 and must be received by March 22, 2010.
As Florida’s legal landscape changes, Michelle believes you need someone with both the experience and new ideas to help The Florida Bar change with it. Recently, as President of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Michelle has partnered with the local school board to bring attorneys into schools to mentor, educate and be positive role models to the 169,000 students in Palm Beach County. She embraces news media to expand the reach of membership including Presidential Twitter and YouTube videos to highlight upcoming bar events and activities.
Michelle is actively involved in the leadership of numerous local and state legal organizations. In addition to being the President of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County and was the Past-President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) – Palm Beach County Chapter. While serving as President of the FAWL she was recognized by the Governor’s Office, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and the Legal Aid Society for her initiation of the “Breakfast and Books” Mentoring Program for juvenile offenders. Michelle has also served as Past Chair for Bench Bar Conference, Judicial Relations Committee and Criminal Practice Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
